How can a loving God send people to hell?

Time and again, I’ve seen people ask, how can a loving God send people to hell? You'd see how some would even reject the God of the bible because he doesn’t fit their image of love.

Have you ever asked yourself this question as well, especially if you’ve grown to see how loving and kind God is?

Love thinks no evil, so where why would God create a fiery furnace just for the sake of burning people who disobey him?

For years, I grew up living in the fear of Hell over my love for God. In my little understanding, Heaven was the opposite of Hell, so choosing the former was only natural.

I didn’t want to go to hell, so making heaven was the next best option.

But that was years ago. Men are gradually evolving to a place where Hell feels like a myth and Lucifer is being seen in a positive light

As Christians, we need to ensure whatever gospel we are preaching is strong enough to let people know the other side of the story and keep them in God’s will.

God's love gives people a chance and a choice

God doesn’t send people to hell. Hell is a choice we make. It’s a path we take. And God gave every man a free will since the beginning of time. It’s the reason why Jesus sent his son to die for us and save us from the wrong destination. Whoever chooses him chooses life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

We may not have chosen how we came into this world, but we’ll definitely choose what part of eternity we’d like to live.

Because God is Love, Love will not hold people down against their will. No matter how much God loves a man, he will NEVER impose himself on that man.

Such a man still has a choice to choose God or Satan, and a man choosing himself indirectly worships Satan. We see many examples of men in the bible who rejected God no matter how much God wanted the best for them. An example was Cain who was unrepentant about killing his brother when God asked him about Abel. The Israelites (God’s own special people) had a choice to be content with the wilderness life or grumble and insult God to his face.

They chose the latter and this resulted in some of them dying

Scriptures worth reading: Deuteronomy 1:26-38, Psalm 95:6-11, Hebrews 3:7-19

Some people don’t love God and will never love God, no matter how much you preach to them.

Some men would turn away from the faith because they don’t want God anymore. -1Timothy 4:1, Matthew 24:10

So why would God force these same people into his dwelling place?

That would be illegal and unloving to force people to love you and spend time with you.

It's like the law of gravity. It's a good and effective law responsible for man's balance.

But those who misuse its law face the consequences (death)

God is just. We have to choose him by desiring Him above everything we’ve ever wanted.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Matthew 16:24

Heaven is where God is present

Heaven is heaven because of God. So if God the Father decides to make his home on Earth today, automatically Earth becomes heaven.

God is the definition of true goodness, music, beauty, life, warmth, peace, joy, and salvation.

He is pleasure and purity personified, glorious, and creative.

God is everything Man’s soul was created for.

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:11

God is life! He is the pure definition of life.

When you choose death, you reject life and all the beautiful things associated with living. It’s the same when a man rejects God. Such a man has chosen a path unto destruction.

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. And that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

There’s no sitting on the fence. You’re either dead or alive.

Hell is the absence of Joy, Pleasure, and God's Presence.

Hell is a terrible place to be because God is absent and people there are forgotten by God.

The dead live there.

Hell is filled with despair and hopelessness. Hell is like a junkyard where they forget people.

It’s depressing. It was made for Satan and his cohorts. The presence of Satan is the presence of death, sin, and darkness.

Don't be deceived by theories that contradict God's word. Seasons will come and go, but God's word will abide forever.

Earth is still bearable to live on because the Holy Spirit dwells in Christians. Besides, God still has hope for more souls to come into him.

Hope thrives on Earth. You don’t want to know how the earth will be when the saints are raptured and the Holy Spirit leaves.

When the Holy Spirit leaves, men will be at the mercy of darkness. Nothing good will remain.

I understand some of us are still growing and perplexed about the role of Hell in God's creation.

But God is a good Father and His judgments are good, regardless of how our minds or the world may see it.

Let God be true and every man a liar

Romans 3:4

The soul of man cannot fully comprehend God hence we need to keep growing until we see as Jesus sees.

When we do, it becomes easy to serve God lovingly not grudgingly.

When we become like Jesus, we will be able to fully comprehend God's will without pretense or doubts in our hearts.

Jesus was so eager to please His father and felt the cross was worth it because he saw the joy ahead.-Hebrews 12:2

God is life! He is the pure definition of life.

Love wants the best for you

God is life!

God showed His love by sending His Son. The sin of man was so great and self-destructive it could only be cured by one man only.

Jesus.

And the only way we can receive God's abundant love and salvation is by following Jesus daily.

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him

Hebrews 5:9

So we must be willing to obey God to enjoy his salvation.

Sin’s Purpose is Destructive

In the beginning, sin separated man from God. Sin is a soul disease that keeps killing men and robbing them of eternal glory. The goal of sin is to ensure men end up being monsters deserving of hell. God saw this ahead of time and went ahead to save us by sending a cure - Jesus.

Jesus is the vaccine to our soul disease. Not yourself or any good deeds you can think of. It’s the reason why Jesus came to die for us to save us from our previous destination-Hell

You can read more about the fall of man here and God's attempt to restore and renew us.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Romans 3:23

Jesus is the only way, and he established a pattern of life for the people who want to love God.

God isn’t going to let down his standard for anyone but he keeps chasing after us until we come into the fullness of his Son.

You have a choice. I pray that you’ll choose wisely.

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9

Bloom with love. Xx!
